Another Pozo still going...

Susan Taylor AKA Taylor Pie (and I don't know why) is the pretty blond singer in the Pozo Seco Singers. The most famous of which is Don Williams who has topped country music charts with huge hits like Amanda and You're My Best Friend, and Turn out the Lights, and Love Me Tonight.

Susan hails from Corpus Christi TX. She is still making great music, and has two new (to me) CDs.  Jubal and Long Ride Home. Jubal is a dog song, and maybe the best ever besides Old Blue. She is friends with and performs with the Shaw Brothers.  I met them at John Stewart's Kingston Trio Fantasy Camp back in 2004. Two nicer guys you'll never come across. Anyway here is a sampling of Susan Taylor's great song writing.

Long Ride Home
Lyrics and Music (K.S. Taylor)

Here's to the wind I was never gonna ride upon.
Here's to the poetryI swore I'd never write.
Here's to the lovers, I was never gonna hold in the dark and quiet places of a moon lit night.
On the long ride home sitting all alone,

Wishing I could fill the empty corners of my soul.
On the long ride back, through tunnels deep and black
Feeling like a thief for all the pleasure that we stole,
On the long ride home...
