Back in 1980 when my little hand built log cabin in the forest was completed I inaugurated an annual event called Fall Fest. Every October for better than a dozen years, new and old friends would get together for a weekend of partying and wood cutting. Other activities included dog races, horse shoe throwing tournament, and live music. Fall Fest ran it's life cycle when a lot of the participants began to have kids. I finally pulled the plug on when I realized it just wasn't going to survive as a family event.
I am pleased to announce that a scaled back version will return this Autumn. A few of the "original" guys have agreed to travel to Wisconsin from Iowa, Illinois, and Florida to eat chili, drink beer, and talk smart. Wayne ( banjo player turned ranger) and I will once again provide musical entertainment limited only by our lack of talent. The above photo has been called "Desperatos Waiting for a Train".
