Tom Rush has a New Album!

Me teaching Tom Rush the words to Itty-Bitty Spider

I just got an e-mail from Tom announcing that his first new album in 30 some years is available, (and my order is already placed). Tom Rush is one of my 3 favorite singer/songwriters of all-time along with John Stewart and Eric Andersen. I've heard some of these 15 songs before either in concert or on YouTube, but none have easy to wrap your ears around during the 30 years drought. Here's some of what Tom has to say about the release:

Hi and welcome!

I went down to Nashville and my old buddy Jim Rooney worked with me as producer. He has the most amazing assortment of musicians on call, and I’m truly delighted with the results. Emmylou stopped by an sang some harmonies, as did Nanci Griffith and Bonnie Bramlett. (I hadn’t seen Bonnie since we were on the Festival Express train together back in 1970!)
It’s coming out on the Appleseed label, and will be available on the 24th of February. (It’s been 30-some years since Ladies Love Outlaws, the last studio album, so what’s a few more days?)

Tom Rush

I was fortunate enough to spend a little time with Tom when he was in town for a show a couple years back. He actually came by my office the next day and I shared copy/fax/phone capabilities with him as he keep up with stuff on the road. Maybe we'll get him back this way someday and we can share another Glen Levitts.
